Welcome to Michael Comiskey’s Homepage!

I’m glad you’re here. This is where I post some of my poems, short stories, a link to my book, and recommended readings for you.

I started writing poetry in my fifties and really got into it after my retirement in 2019. My short-story writing began soon after that. About half of my poems and short stories are Appalachian in some way; the rest are a smorgasbord of God-knows-whatever catches my eye or crosses my mind. A majority of my poetry is formal, but I write in all styles.

My poems have appeared in Pennsylvania’s Poetic Voices, Rune, The Loyalhanna Review, The Lyric, and Prize Poems 2023 (Pennsylvania Poetry Society, Inc.). I have two poems forthcoming in volume 5 of The Northern Appalachia Review (2024).

It’s available from Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and other online retailers. It’s easier to buy and you may get it quicker from Barnes and Noble than from Amazon. But the best way to buy it is directly through the publisher, IngramSpark, by clicking here:

Please look around the site and let me know what you think. I love to hear from other writers.
